The following
outlines the process you will go through to commission a piece. To commission an original piece from Anton Gerner Furniture an initial meeting takes place between Anton Gerner and the client. This can take place in our showroom, where we have many examples of our work, or in your home - which helps Anton to visualise how your new piece will fit into your interior. At this first meeting we discuss your requirements, such as function, colour and aesthetic desires. Here Anton Gerner will also give you a rough price range for the design discussed. If you wish to proceed further, concept sketches or even models are then prepared so that you can fully visualise each individually designed piece before the construction begins. Another meeting will take place, where you will receive advice on design, timber selection and the best method of construction for the design. A formal quote will also be given at this stage, detailing a firm total cost for the project and a fixed time frame for completion. There is no charge for this service. However if you don’t want to proceed further Anton Gerner will of course retain all drawings and designs. To confirm all orders we then require a 40% deposit, with the full balance being due on delivery, or upon completion of any installation. All clients are required to sign a contract of sale which fully details the piece being commissioned, total cost and delivery timeframe. How long does it take to order a piece? Hand crafted furniture cannot be rushed. Depending on the size and complexity of the commission you can expect to wait around 12-14 weeks for delivery once the design is finalised and your deposit paid. How much input do you have? As much or as little as you want. Anton Gerner has his own design style, which is part of what you are investing in, but as a designer it is his role to interpret your requirements and to design a piece that you are happy with. How much does our furniture cost? Individually designed, hand made furniture is not cheap. A dining table can range from between $3000 - $ 30,000, depending on the size and materials selected. However, our furniture is built to last and uses traditional joinery techniques, ensuring your investment will become an antique of the future. |
