High
quality construction and attention to detail is achieved using
traditional hand tools, techniques of construction and finish.
Traditional construction techniques such as mortice and tenon joints,
dovetails and hand laying of veneers are used to ensure lasting quality
of each design.
The finest quality solid timber and unusual veneers
are carefully selected from a range of both Australian and imported
timbers.
The use of traditional hand tools provides us with the
scope to acheive much finer joinery and detailing than is possible with
machines.
Intricate inlays in contrasting timbers
are hand fitted to add to the sophistication of each piece of furniture.
We use traditional hand cut dovetail joints in all our
drawers, not only for strength, but for aesthetic beauty with
contrasting coloured drawer sides.
Traditional
mortice and tenon joints and dovetails are used to ensure lasting
quality of each design.
Our solid timber table tops are attached with wooden buttons
which allow for movement throughout the seasons.
We use large corner blocks in our chairs which are screwed
and glued into place to ensure our chairs stay rigid for many years.
Prior to finishing all surfaces are hand planed to precision flatness.
Each piece is then hand scraped before final sanding to achieve very smooth finish.
Each piece is finished by
hand to enhance the distinctive timber combinations selected. We
use natural oils and waxes or traditional french polish to bring out
the full beauty of the timber.
Before delivery each
piece is branded with our name and dated with the final completion date.
